Our Contributions to the Development of the Krumovgrad Municipality
DPM works together with the local community, and our collaboration with the Krumovgrad Municipality and surrounding villages has helped to make them better places to live.
We have invested in the development of the Krumovgrad Municipality, fostering long-term prosperity through environmental stewardship, improved infrastructure, and higher-quality education. Looking to the future, we plan to return a large area of the rehabilitated operation's footprint to the Natura 2000 protected area, creating opportunities for tourism and active recreation for both residents and visitors.

Delivering Lasting Impact
In 2015, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation with the Krumovgrad Municipality, committing to working together in a spirit of partnership to create lasting benefits for local communities through cooperation in economic and social development, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, healthcare, and education.
We have invested in initiatives and projects that benefit broad groups of people and the wider public in Krumovgrad. Each year, we have provided funding for public infrastructure, improvements to public buildings, upgrades to hospital and medical centre facilities, and invested in efforts to attract medical professionals. We have improved access to education by financing municipal transport, co-funding a range of social services, and supporting educational initiatives. We have also contributed to the repair and maintenance of mosques and churches across the municipality.
Restoration of the domes of St. Ivan Rilski Church
Together, DPM and the Krumovgrad Municipality established a unique fund to support and promote micro, small and medium-sized enterprises independent of the mining sector, with the long-term vision of sustaining employment and prosperity beyond mine closure.
Ada Tepe, the oldest gold mining area in Europe, provides educational information about both historical and modern methods of gold extraction.
Over the years, we have also supported the development of sport in the municipality, as well as numerous cultural and folklore events in the town and surrounding villages. We also financed the construction of a hotel in the town to help expand tourism opportunities.
